ACHIEVEMENT GUIDE - "Benchmarking"

Benchmarking is just another fun way to make sure you are moving in the right direction at the beginning of your minecrafting adventure. A Crafting Table is essential to your survival if you are just starting out, and the best way to enusre you have just about any resource you could ever possibly need is by having one. Luckily, notch made it so that you are rewarded for your effort in the game anyway - so why not?

To build a crafting table, you need wood. One piece of wood from a nearby tree is all you need. Once you have the necessary supplies, open up your inventory. You will notice that your current crafting grid is only a 2 x 2 square good for little things that you don't really need in minecraft (with the exception of the crafting table, of course).

Place the wood in the crafting grid (in any square). In the output box (where the arrow is pointing) there will be 4 wooden planks. Take the wooden planks out of the box they were in and place one in each of the four squares of the crafting grid. In the output box now, there should be another cube with wierd markings on it - and that is your crafting table. You will then place it somewhere for safe keeping, and PRESTO! You have your first (and most important) tool in Minecraft along with another Achievement Get!
