REPORT - "A Casino...?"
This guy has way too much time on his hands. I should be posting this to TOO MUCH SPARE TIME, but it was too cool, so I posted it early. Also, if someone could please tell me - I think the carpet in the subway, the glass doors, and some other things are part of a mod. However, confirmation would be nice - so don't hold me to my word at this time. Thanks!

REPORT - "Furniture Ideas"
This is NOT the same guy/company that posted yesterday's video, and this one has been on the internet for much longer. It is NOT in a playlist as the one shown yesterday, so be sure to check it out if you have some cool buildings and need some interior decorating tips. This is a modern living room, and personally, I think it is impressive...MOST impressive...

REPORT - "Mobsters Everywhere"
Q: What happens when you come across a monster and have no weapons, potions, or tools with which to dispose of them?
A: Run. Run as far away as you can as fast as you can until you know you lost them and set up a temporary shelter until the morning comes.
That is the first basic rule of minecraft, if you have just started. If you do have weapons, you still need to be cautious, because creepers don't like you and swords don't work that well.
1. Zombies: zombies are the most basic mean mob on the street and becuase they are easy to kill, you can probably engage and not be put into jeopardy. The only way to die at the hands to a zombie is if there are other mobs around to make the easy kill more difficult.
2. Spiders/Cave Spiders: climbing to the tops of buildings to escape spiders will not help, because they can climb walls just like regular real world spiders. They are lower in elavation and can swim, but are not fun in closed and confined spaces in dungeons and things when you have to fight them head on. They are easier to fight than others, but are difficult if you get stuck in a spider web.
3. Creepers: bows and arrows work the best for the most part. There is no way to kill a creeper unless you have a diamond enchanted sword (really risky with creepers). Your best chance if you have none of these is to just run.
4. Enderman: the most annoying and baffling enemies of all time, enderman need to be taken out quickly and silently, because they vanish and reappear right behind you most times and beat you about the head profusely with whatever it is they happen to have mined before you decided to attack them.
5. Skeletons: this enemy has bows and arrows and can shoot you from a very long distance away. They are not easy to run from but are slower while shooting at you, since they cannot technically sprint. So, the best thing to do is to catch up with them and kill them before they have the chance to kill you.
And that just about does it for upperworld monsters. Different rules apply for the monsters in the Nether, so be very careful about how you handle those, becuase they cannot be any more fun than the ones in the upper world.

REPORT - "Shelter Strategy"
When building a shelter, you need to be seriously thinking about all your options and some of the things that can go on in your current game mode.
1. There is always a plan B when making a house. Plan B's are essential to luxury and survival in the vast and endless wilderness we all know and love as minecraft. An escape hatch that can be blocked by a falling block of some kind like sand or gravel would be suitable if a creeper comes searching for you to explode. Have it stretch on for a while and make sure that you know where you are going for sure. You can have it let out underground to another secret lair, and if you know there might be monsters chasing after, build another escape hatch or a bed to rid yourself of the troubles of night time. Just make sure that you can escape after a chase - losing valuable resources is not a very fun thing to do.
2. High or Low is something you should always put into consideration when building a house. Valleys are ideal if you like building homes onto the mountainside, but unfortunately, it makes things easier for you enemies. Mountains are all fine and good until a monster of some kind sneaks up on you and you are unable to see it coming, so that is probably not a good idea either. Some place in between those two would be ideal for your current situation. And if you are in a rare snowy biome, don't hang around too long messing with snow golems - just move on and go frolicing later.
3. Water and other resources are kind of important for getting by in minecraft - mainly because trees and wood are you best materials to start with. Actually, a forest surrounding you and a small island of some kind might be a good idea to start off with. Over time, gradually remove the trees so that you can see your enemies without having to build a wall and block the way to other resources inefficiently. Water is also your main resource and is essential for building potions and keeping more water for yourself and others in your world. If you are far from water, bring it to you and make a lake, then use only the corners to fill your bucket (corners have an infinite store of water for some reason - they never get empty)
And that's all there is to it! Just use these simple and easy steps to understanding the way to choose a location for your base and you will be prepared, happy, and safe in the world of Minecraft.

TOO MUCH SPARE TIME - "Games and Fun"
The games of Minecraft that have been created through the use of mods or just creative mode never cease to amaze me. Rock 'em Sock 'em (the red and blue guy in the toy ring punching each other until their heads pop) was the most recent one I have seen, created by a user with just the right idea for how to make cool things on Minecraft.
"Click Here!" to watch the video.
Other games have come and gone, like games between players in which maps are created to look like battle zones or just places to hide out. Maybe for a zombie appocalypse or to just beat up your friends in the virtual playing field to mix things up a little bit.
"Click Here!" to watch the video.
Sometimes people machinimate their favorite-i-est video games and make a minecraft version. One of my personal favorites is the one where Assassin's Creed Revelations meets the game.
"Click Here!" to watch the video.
Anyway, the point is games are fun, and fun is all in the games. So if you are too bored to do anything else and you want to do something cool with your friends, try something like what was shown in the videos above.

WITCHCRAFT AND WIZARDRY - "Axe"
Some interesting things to know about the Pickaxe before you begin:
1. Axes are only efficient when chopping down trees.
2. Enchantments work on any kind of axe, not just the diamond and gold ones.
3. You do not need a top notch state of the art super awesome kick butt axe to be the best lumber jack in minecraft on your server or just in your world.
So, since you don't need to use diamonds to chop down to get other things, it is highly recommended that you keep using your iron or cobblestone to build axes and save the precious minerals for another day. Obviously, you don't have that many resources to begin with, so why use up something you could be using to construct a sword, enchanter's table, jukebox, and etc.?
Since the axe is so essential in chopping trees, there are a few different enchantments you can place on it to make it a better tool in general (shown below)
- EFFICIENCY - you get a faster chopping rate from the tool.
- SILK TOUCH - the blocks you chop will drop by themselves (they will assume the spinning cube on the ground position/state of being)
- UNBREAKING - each time you use a tool, the durability (green bar) may not decrease as fast as it normally would without this enchantment.
- FORTUNE - you get more items from a block than you normally would have (good for getting more wood than normal)
With these enchantments you can get more bang for your buck and seriously score big down in the lumber jacks's domain. Happy minecrafting!

ACHIEVEMENT GUIDE - "Benchmarking"
Benchmarking is just another fun way to make sure you are moving in the right direction at the beginning of your minecrafting adventure. A Crafting Table is essential to your survival if you are just starting out, and the best way to enusre you have just about any resource you could ever possibly need is by having one. Luckily, notch made it so that you are rewarded for your effort in the game anyway - so why not?
To build a crafting table, you need wood. One piece of wood from a nearby tree is all you need. Once you have the necessary supplies, open up your inventory. You will notice that your current crafting grid is only a 2 x 2 square good for little things that you don't really need in minecraft (with the exception of the crafting table, of course).
Place the wood in the crafting grid (in any square). In the output box (where the arrow is pointing) there will be 4 wooden planks. Take the wooden planks out of the box they were in and place one in each of the four squares of the crafting grid. In the output box now, there should be another cube with wierd markings on it - and that is your crafting table. You will then place it somewhere for safe keeping, and PRESTO! You have your first (and most important) tool in Minecraft along with another Achievement Get!

REPORT - "Shortcuts and Loopholes"
In terms of navigation, when you first start out, compasses are harder to come by than most other items. So, the solution is to figure out where it is you are going and where you want to be.
One big indicator is the biome you are in. Most of time, adjacent (connected) biomes are relatively similar, but there are the occasional oceans and seas and deserts that are a dead giveaway to your encampment. Mountains and higher ground may also be a dead giveaway. You might even want to make a small shelter everywhere you go to make sure that you understand that you have been in a place before and should go in this direction to find base camp - particularly if you had to travel far to hunt mobs.
The sky is of big help when figuring out which direction to go. The clouds travel in a constant direction, and the sun rises and sets in the same directions as well. When the sun rises, you have 10 minutes of daylight before it sets, when the moon comes out, and you have 10 minutes of darkness in a cycle every single day.
Lastly, and more commonly, torching the land behind you and leaving a trail of light will help you find your way to where you were much easier than using the landmarks or some other indications around you. Especially if you get caught in the dark away from home, you will need something like this to keep you going where you need to be going. (any Survivor fans? It's kind of like tying red fabric to trees to mark a trail!)
Follow these directions or come up with your own way to get home, and you should be good to go.
Any more questions? I read all the comments posted (obviously) so just leave a question and I shall leave an "Re: (insert question here)" sometime soon.

REPORT - "The Most Valuable Game"
I may have mentioned this in some of my previous posts, but when you are in survival mode, you have to be extremely careful about food, depending upon your level of difficulty. Here is the list of (non-monster) mobs from least valuable to most that can help you dramatically throughout gameplay.
1. Cows: the most valuable form of livestock to you is definitely cows. Cows spawn just about anywhere in the upper world and can give you milk, beef, and leather if you have the necessary tools to obtain these items. Milk is essential to cooking a cake, or just having to quench your thirst from time to time. If you are planning on storing it for rations only use one bucket - you must use your metals with caution. Beef, for when you kill a cow is good for having meat. Obviously, you don't need to capture a cow and then kill it to obtain this food, you just hunt on your own time. The best way to do this is to hunt cows farther away from your center of activities so as not to lose the mobs nearest you in the event that you need to capture some for more rations. Leather cannot be used to make a saddle like in the older version of Minecraft, but it can be used to make leather boots, caps, tops, and leggings for basic protection from the elements and monsters of the game. The applications of these three items can make or break a player, so be efficient with your tools!
2. Chickens: the second most favored animal in minecraft is the bird that we have all come to know and love - the chicken. When you kill a chicken, a few things might come out of it - raw chicken, a broken egg, and/or a feather. Raw chicken can be used as food for more rations, and provides more energy when cooked. The broken egg is useless in this case - but if you keep a bunch of chickens fenced in, you can collect the eggs they lay inside, and use that to make a cake. The feather can be used to make arrows for a trusty bow for some long-range clean-shooting hunting. Add it to a stick and a tip of flint to the feather, and you have an arrow to test yourself with for some safer hunting.
3. Pigs and Sheep: in my opinion, sheep and pigs are the less useful mobs, and here's why. Sheep, once killed drop wool. If you harvest the wool using sheers, the sheep doesn't grow it back. That is all the sheep is good for. Unless you obsess with making sure that every room in your village or civilization has a nice carpet and picture frames, then you don't need more than 3 pieces of wool to get by in Minecraft. Once you make a bed, you don't HAVE to have sheep near you all the time. You can dye sheep for decoration and make fun colors, but it is just a waste of resources. Pigs are just fun to hunt. When you kill them, all they give you is raw pork that can be cook. If you just need to get food to start off with, they are the ideal mob to attack and kill first. Once you are sure there are no more of those, you can begin with other mobs to expand and get more food and things to help you along the way.
4. Squid: squid make for an interesting mob, since, besides fish, they are the only aquatic mobs in the game. All they are good for, however, is being the source of ink sacs, which can be used to dye wool. Ink sacs have no other purpose, and are the only thing that comes out of squid. Keeping squid near you won't help you dramatically, so it is good to focus on other mobs first.

REPORT - "Mushroom Spawns"
An interesting thing appeared with the addition of the spawns in the creative mode menu once you press 'E' in the game. Scroll all the way down and you will find your basic monsters, your netherly monsters, and your enderly monsters, and then some other harmless mobs along the way. But something else interested me even more than that: the Mushroom spawn.
When you spawn a Mushroom, you get something that looks like a cross between a cow and a mushroom. It has mushrooms sprouting out of it's back, has red and white spotted skin, and doesn't cause much harm to the player. I don't know where they normally spawn or if they do normally spawn. When you kill them, they don't drop anything - no mushrooms or meat of any kind. They have the same properties in game play as a normal cow.
On the Minecraft Wiki website, I could find no other specific information - if anything comes up, I will post it here! If you fimd anything I should add or have missed, please leave a comment so I can fix this post correctly with the necessary information to keep everyone informed.

Any more questions? I read all the comments posted (obviously) so just leave a question and I shall leave an "Re: (insert question here)" sometime soon.

TOO MUCH SPARE TIME - "Land Cultivation"
Statues and other artistic ideas have always been a major hobby to many minecrafters with too much spare time on their hands. One of the things you can do, is cultivate land to make it have the more desirable traits that nature in the world usually displays. By cultivate, I mean of course mowing the lawn to make it look nice, covering up the bare mountain side of rock, and maybe adding a lake or waterfall here and there, just to set things in motion a little more.
Usually, people with bigger projects who are planning on building a statue have to get a spot ready to go, and without the texture pack that allows you to start off on a clean slate, you really need to make sure the surrounding area is aesthetically pleasing to the eyes of harsh critics (if you are planning to share your work).
Sometimes, even when building villages, there are simple things that you can do to spruce up a gloomy and boring cave system. Add some TNT here and there, maybe some support beams, a couple of torches, some spider webs (if you have any), and a chest for all your belongings too valuable for a dangerous escapade. Who knows? Being organized might be your best way out of a cave system if you do get lost.
So mix it up a little. Make the place look nice for guests! Do something spontaneous. If you have nothing left to do and you like your world just the way it is, start in a new area miles away and start building a city inbetween the two points. Just do something! It won't hurt anything of yours if you expiriment farther away, so try it out.

WITCHCRAFT AND WIZARDRY - "Pickaxe"
Some interesting things to know about the Pickaxe before you begin:
1. Once you work up to an iron pickaxe, you can mine anything from cobblestone to diamonds - you don't need to upgrade your pickaxe further.
2. Enchantments work on any kind of pickaxe, not just the diamond and gold ones.
3. You do not need a top notch state of the art super awesome kick butt pickaxe to be the best miner in minecraft on your server or just in your world.
So, since you don't need to use diamonds to mine for other things, it is highly recommended that you keep using your iron to build pickaxes and save the precious minerals for another day. Obviously, you don't have that many resources to begin with, so why use up something you could be using to construct a sword, enchanter's table, jukebox, and etc.?
Since the pickaxe is so essential in mining, there are a few different enchantments you can place on it to make it a better tool in general (shown below)
- EFFICIENCY - you get a faster mining rate from the tool.
- SILK TOUCH - the blocks you mine will drop by themselves (they will assume the spinning cube on the ground position/state of being)
- UNBREAKING - each time you use a tool, the durability (green bar) may not decrease as fast as it normally would without this enchantment.
- FORTUNE - you get more items from a block than you normally would have (good for diamonds, redstone, lapis lazuli, glowstone, gold ore, iron ore, coal, flint, and many other blocks.)
With these enchantments you can get more bang for your buck and seriously score big down in the miner's domain. Happy minecrafting!

REPORT - "Minecraft For Free"
Many players of minecraft know where to go to play for free, but there is a website that just came out with a server!
http://www.minecraftforfree.com/ is another internet website that allows you to play online with friends. Now that the demand for the server has risen dramatically, one has been created! And you don't need to play with the default username - you can change it using the bar below the window containing the game on the website. All you have to do to play online is agree to the terms of use, download minecraft, run the software, and maybe work out some security issues. Then you can get right back to it!
If you need any help, instructions are below the game window (above the username for cracked servers bar) or you can watch a video on how to join above the window and to the left.
If you are not satisfied with the results of your first attempts or just wish to join another server in the first place, http://minecraftservers.net/ has listings of thousands of servers containing the IP address, the number of players, the country, and the game mode, plus some other additional information when you click on it.
Good luck, and happy minecrafting!
Any more questions? I read all the comments posted (obviously) so just leave a question and I shall leave an "Re: (insert question here)" sometime soon.

REPORT - "Farming Takes Forever. . ."
Farming, however helpful, takes forever. In survival mode, it is my understanding that not all of us have that long. And, once the livestock around you runs out, there is nothing left. So what can you do? Well, you have a couple of options:
- If you are playing survival mode, you can just switch the level of difficulty until you have access to food more. Peaceful is like breaktime where you can recooperate and gain the necessary foods and resources to survive longer in a more difficult mode.
- If you don't have that option (for all you hardcore gamers out there) you really have nothing left to lose! Start planting, and go out to kill some skeletons. Harvest the bones they give off, and craft that into bone meal. Once you have that, apply it to the plants growing, and you will have a field of wheat in no time! (NOTE: you can do this with pumpkin seeds and melon seeds too, but the process takes much longer because it boosts their growth rate to the second to last part of the cycle.)
- If you are playing either of these and the two other options don't exist, travel to other places and seek out other forms of food. You might even want to consider setting up shop in another place if the original plan didn't work out so well.

REPORT - "Netherly Things to do"
You may have noticed with your recent attempts to make a river in the Nether out of water that it automatically evaporates due to the heat. Well, if you really want this and you have lots of ice at your disposal, then this might be new information.
When underground, you cannot use a bucket of water. Well, to get a river or lake flowing (this is easier in creative mode since survival mode poses more of a challenge) then dig out a ditch and fill it with ice. On the surface, ice just melts due to the properties in the game, but in the Nether it takes significantly longer. So, the solution - surround the ice with torches, and then you have your water.
As far as I can tell, the water has the same properties in this realm as in the upper world, and once the ice has melted you no longer need the torches to maintain their liquified state. You can even put the ice on the Netherrack (all the maroon matter that makes up the Nether) and it will not evaporate once you have melted it.
If you have surrounded a single cube above ground with 4 or 8 torches, once it melts, it will not flow over the torches, so you have to check up on it every once in a while to make sure that it is ready so you can remove it. The point is, if a torch is blocking the flow of water in any direction, you have to manually remove the torch before the water can flow downwards in the direction you want it to go.
(NOTE: If you want to set up a brewery in the Nether, you can still use a bucket of water to fill the cauldrons, and you can still brew normally.)
Another interesting thing to know - if you wish to simulate the upper world in the Nether (like me) then you should know that crops and plants of every shape and size need to be grown with additional materials. Bone meal (which can be used for pumpkins, melons, and wheat) will get the crops to the last or second-to-last stage of growth, creating nice fields for food while underground. When growing trees, I found the best method to be to make the trees manually, meaning taking wood and leaves and putting them up manually. I set a sapling near one of my lakes, and it still has not produced any promising results.
(REMEMBER: if you are in survival mode, you need to be very cautious of your use of these materials, and you will need at least seeds, a hoe, and sheers for this to work.)
If you are working in a big cavern, be sure to have enough coal to fill every corner with light. I am currently having trouble with Magma Cubes and Pig Zombies spawning everywhere illuminated. In survival mode, you will definitely need to have the necessary precautions to deal with unwanted enemies. I sealed up every entrance to the cave system I have going, and am still having to destroy mobs of pig zombies.
In creative mode, you can spawn villagers, sheep, chickens, cows, chicks (throwing eggs at ground), and wolves, plus whatever other monster you may or may not want to spawn in there. Livestock is obviously not an option in survival mode unless you have a mod or magic trick to dezombify the zombie pigs (though I am not sure one exists).
Keeping track of your portal is also essential if you don't want to build a new one that spawns you in the middle of desert that stretches for miles (as was my case).
Beds are just for show in the Nether. If you have made it to the End, you will notice that beds catch on fire if you attempt to get some sleep in the realm you are in. In the Nether, if you try and fall asleep, the bed and surrounding area will explode and catch fire with the same blast radius as TNT, which may or may not cause a forest fire depending on your predicament.

TOO MUCH SPARE TIME - "Minecarts"
What can you do when you have way more railing than you need and too many minecarts? Well, you can always build an increadibly awesome roller coaster, a mail system, a train, or just a town with a bunch of cars riding down the street to bring your village to life.
Roller coasters are best made with a big hill. Loopety loops are obviously not possible to make, so you just have to make an exception in the awesome scale. The first big drop has to be the one to really get you far, the one that makes you experience zero g's. You can add decorations that you may have seen at your favorite amusement park. You can even make one in the Nether!
A mail system is an idea from a friend of mine who had a small village and lived happily while in a server open to kids that tried to destroy everything. He proposed that you just build the railing to go where you need it to for transcontinental trips and then set a sign on the outside with the items inside of a storage cart. One person in charge of the system will then send it on it's way, making stops all along to ensure that everyone's prerequisites are met.
A train is the roller coaster with less steriods. In survival mode, this can be fun to make if you are tired of the same old song and dance, and can make getting from one base to the other quickly a whole lot easier. Plus, if you need to take some things with you, just throw on another minecart and you are done.
Cars - fun, deadly, and an integrated part of a lot of lifestyles in numerous countries; so, why not? The roads in your town you can design so that pressure rails keep the cars where the need to be at stop lights and the crossing pedestrians will need to watch out. A fully automated system of roads might be fun - and it makes hitch hiking a whole lot easier. Just hop into an empty minecart and ride around for a while, see how effective your system is, and make the necessary adjustments to increase it's potential.
All of these ideas are great, but there are many more out there that are even better if you have a lot of time and these don't satisfy you. You could be the first to successfully develop and Indiana Jones roller coaster, or reenactment, from Temple of Doom. Minecarts are fun, easily accessible and really great for ideas you have been wanting to lash out for a while. So give it a go!

WITCHCRAFT AND WIZARDRY - "Sword"
When making enchantments within your secret lair of a home, you may have noticed that the sword is a fun thing to change up. For one thing, you can increase the sharpness and how long it lasts, making a diamond enchanted sword one of the most powerful weapons in minecraft, but you can also get that nice blue glow that indicates you had the exp. to do something as awesome as this.
Now, in survival mode enchanting things is more of a challenge. Why? Because you have to find and kill a lot of monsters without dying for a long period of time. Then, once you have the least amount of exp. that you need, you just have to go out and kill more monsters until you get where you need to be.
The easiest way to get acquainted with enchantments without having to wait for a long time is going through the Creative Mode first. Granted you don't start out will all the exp. a person could dream of having, but it does make monster killing easier. My method:
Step 1: dig a hole 3 blocks down to fit the size of a creeper (at least)
Step 2: spawn tons of monsters by clicking on the side of the top-most block so they all occupy the same space cleanly and efficiently.
Step 3: whip out your diamond sword and start killing monsters - you can have an infinite number of any kind in there, as long as you can handle a jailbreak.
Once you have all the exp. you want or need, run back to your enchantment room, pull out a fresh, unused sword, and get to the bluish glow.
WARNING: because you have access to every single block in minecraft with Creative Mode, be careful not to deposit your new enchanted sword back to your inventory space. Doing so will not give you back your exp., and you won't be able to find the sword ever again.
Now that you have an awesome sword, you can save it for a certain boss battle in Minecraft, or you can just start using it right away. But remember, don't just bring it with you on some foolish little escapade miles and miles from home, get killed, and start kicking yourself back at your house in your bedroom. Leave it in a storage chest in the safest place you can find, and don't let any of your buddies near it on a multiplayer server - especially if they are prone to stealing awesome glowing blue swords.

Taking Inventory is done by starting up minecraft and opening your inventory. This is done by pressing "E" to see what it is you have to start out with, which is nothing yet.
After that, you can get the rest of the achievements available in the next branch of them.
For more information, visit this link to check out how to do it:
